Solution

The Tropic of Cancer lies at 23½Âº North of the Equator.

Solution

All imaginary parallel circles from the equator to the poles are called parallels of latitude. The imaginary set of semi-circle lines that run from North Pole to South Pole are called meridians of longitude.

Solution

The Torrid Zone is between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. The mid-day sun is exactly overhead at least once a year on all latitudes in this area. This is why the Torrid Zone receives maximum amount of heat.

Solution

London is situated at 0º longitude i.e., Greenwich mean time (GMT). India located east of Greenwich at 82° 30′ E is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of GMT. So, when it is 12.00 noon in London, it is 5.30 p.m. in India.
